Our stud is situated in Co. Antrim, famous for its beautiful scenery including its glens and the Giant’s Causeway. We are only a 10 minute drive from Larne Harbour and less than 30 minutes drive from Belfast Harbour and Belfast International and City Airports.

Our stud was established in 1990, and since then we have enjoyed much success in the showring.

Glenlough Stud shows and breeds top quality ponies, and thereby strives to promote and improve the quality of the Shetland pony in Ireland.

Although for many years we owned only Shetlands, in 2007 we expanded into other breeds when we purchased one each of Highland and Welsh Sec. A filly foals. We have since acquired a Welsh Sec. B gelding and await the arrival of two more Highland foals, one colt and one filly.

Currently the Highland and both the Welsh are being broken for riding.

Youngstock Cup – Reserve Champion – for young pony gaining most points at shows

Foal Trophy- for foal gaining most points at selected shows

Gelding Cup – for gelding gaining most points at shows
